Family Health
The Family Health Clinic provides comprehensive primary care for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries, including retirees, their families, and NATO/foreign national military family members. Our focus is on preventive care, screening, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions using safe, timely, and evidence-based health care practices.
Getting Care
Scheduling an Appointment
- Book appointments online via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.
- Call the appointing line to schedule routine and acute care visits.
- For urgent medical issues that require attention within 24 hours:
- If no same-day appointments are available, call the MHS Nurse Advice Line at 800-874-2273, Option 1, or use web/video chat with a registered nurse.
- Visit a TRICARE-approved Urgent Care Center off base with recommendation from the MHS Nurse Advice Line.
Walk-In Services
We offer walk-in services for the following:
- Blood Pressure Checks
- Walk-In Contraceptives
- Tuesdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
- Pregnancy Tests
- Suture/Staple Removal
All non-acute conditions will be scheduled with a primary care manager.
MHS GENESIS Patient Portal Messaging
We strongly encourage use of the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal for all non-acute healthcare needs. Message us 24/7/365 for health care needs such as referral requests, chronic condition management, medication renewals, or general health questions.
In-Between Visit Encounters
In-between visit encounters are typically done over the phone for needs that don’t require an in-person visit (not the same as virtual appointments). Once submitted, a provider will review the request and respond within three business days. A nurse or technician will contact you with the provider’s recommendations.
Primary Care Services
We offer routine and preventive care as well as management for acute and chronic conditions, including:
- Preventive screenings and wellness visits
- Minor procedures (wart/mole/skin tag removal, toenail removal, IUD insertion/removal)
- Chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, asthma, etc.)
- Medication Renewals (Request via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal; processed within 72 hours)
- Referral Renewals (Submit requests via the portal with the specialty, provider name, and diagnosis details)
- Overseas Clearance & Exceptional Family Member Program support
Emergency & After-Hours Care
The 97th Medical Group doesn’t provide emergency or inpatient services. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
For non-life-threatening urgent issues that occur outside of business hours, contact the MHS Nurse Advice Line at 800-874-2273, Option 1, or chat virtually at https://mhsnurseadviceline.com/. If recommended, visit a TRICARE-approved Urgent Care Center.
