Influenza Vaccine Update
Flu season is upon us. We are concerned about your health and encourage everyone to get vaccinated annually against influenza.
It is critical that everyone receives a flu vaccine. It is essential that active duty service members, active duty family members and other beneficiaries are well-protected from influenza.
Please see the guidance below for getting the flu vaccine here at Altus AFB.
Active Duty Service Members (ADSMs)
Active duty and Guard/Reserve members are required to get the flu vaccine.
Active Duty Service Members have the option of obtaining the flu vaccine on base or off base at a location that accepts TRICARE. If the ADSM chooses to receive the vaccine off base, please bring proof of vaccination to the Primary Care Clinic for it to be transcribed into their records.
- The 97th MDG currently has the Influenza Vaccine at the MTF for ADSMs.
- Local TRICARE network pharmacies or providers that you can go to are Walmart, Rexco, Walgreens, Granite Drug Store, Mangum Drug Store, or the Jackson County Health Department.
- Appointments are required at the Jackson County Health Department. To make an appointment please contact 580-482-7308. They offer appointments on a week by week basis from 0830-1530 Mon-Fri.
- All other locations allow walk-ins. Please be considerate of hours of operation (lunch and closing times).
If you receive a flu vaccine off base, please follow AF policy guidance for recording the vaccine in your shot record. You'll need the following information:
